This parcel of land and others adjacent to it are owned by Lukeville Acquisitions Inc., which is owned by Florida-based billionaire Simon Falic. The Falic family, owners of the Duty Free Americas chain and other businesses, has donated at least $5.6 million to Israeli settler groups as of 2019 and funds "far-right causes considered extreme even in Israel," according to an Associated Press investigation. "They back Jewish groups that covertly buy up Palestinian properties in east Jerusalem, and they helped fund an unauthorized settlement outpost in the West Bank." They have also "given more money than any other donor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu."
